Mobile Printing
How to print from a laptop or desktop computer at home or work:
- Begin by visiting the Mobile Printing Services website.
- Select the printer and enter your email address. Print options include black and white, color, double sided, and legal size paper.
- Browse your computer to find and select the file you wish to print.
- Click the green print icon. You will see the status of your print job and a reference number.
- At the Print Release Station in the library's Business Center, select "Release a Print Job".
- Enter the email address you supplied in the first box labeled "User ID", and select your print job (enter in the second box down).
- Select print job(s) - should be highlighted in blue.
- Deposit the required funds into the coin box (accepts bills up to $10)
- Click on print in the upper left corner, click on the box labeled "pay from vending device"
Your print job will be printed!
To print an email message or attachment, simply forward your email to

Email forwarding is ideal for online email portals such as Yahoo!, Hotmail or Google Mail.
Most online email services require that you log-in to access email. If you provide the URL (web address) of your message, the printing services will be blocked because your email login name and password are not known by the print system.
- Visit your device's 'store' for apps, install and launch the PrinterOn App.
- Click "No printer selected"
- Click "Search" and search for 02038.
- Find Franklin Public Library and choose a printer, and save. Print options include black and white, color, double sided, and legal size paper.
- To print:
- Documents: when viewing the document, click in the upper right corner and upload the document to the PrinterOn App.
- Photos from your phone: open the app, click on "photo" and select a photo to print.
- Select the printer and click the print icon.
- Enter an email address and click on the check mark (you will receive a notice that the job started, and shortly after another message stating "Job Success").
- At the Print Release Station in the library's Business Center, select "Release a Print Job".
- Enter the email address you supplied and select your print job (should be highlighted in blue)
- Deposit the required funds into the coin box (accepts bills up to $10)
- Click on "print" in the upper left corner, click on the box labeled "pay from vending device"
Your print job will be printed!
- Email from any device directly to the library's print system at
fpl-bw@printspots.com for black and white 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper, or fpl-color@printspots.com for color 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper - At the Print Release Station in the library's Business Center, select "Release a Print Job".
- Enter the email address you supplied in the second box down, and select your print job (should be highlighted in blue).
- Deposit the required funds into the coin box (accepts bills up to $10)
- Click on "print" in the upper left corner, click on the box labeled "pay from vending device"
Your print job will be printed!
Library Cards & Accounts
If you have never had a Minuteman library card, please click on the link below to get a 6-month Minuteman library card. Then visit a Minuteman public library convenient to you, within 6 months, to complete the library card application. When you pick up your card you must present a photo ID and proof of address.
Please sign up using a valid email address. Your temporary barcode and username will be emailed to you.
Apply online for a Franklin Public Library Card!
Your temporary number allows you to:
- Login to My Account and establish a password.
- Use state-provided online research databases within Massachusetts only.
- Place up to 5 requests on Books, DVDs, CDs, etc. in the Minuteman Catalog for pickup at a Minuteman library.
- Use our Digital Catalog.
How to complete the registration:
- Pick up your full service library card at a Minuteman public library of your choice within 6 months.
- After 6 months, temporary accounts, including item requests, are deleted.
- Please mention that you have already registered for a temporary card and bring your temporary library number or a copy of the confirmation email.
- When you pick up your card you must present a photo ID and proof of address.
Proof of address requirements:
- Current, valid Massachusetts Driver's license or Massachusetts State Identification Card with current address or one document from Section 1 and one document from Section 2:
Section 1: Proof of identification - current or expired - (must include name and photo):
- Passport
- Alien Resident Card
- Government issued cards, such as Military ID
- State issued photo ID including welfare, Medicaid or FID card
- University or school ID
- Senior/T.A.P. ID issued by the MBTA (added by Membership January 18, 2017)
Section 2: Proof of current local address (see Note 1) (must include applicant's name):
- Utility bill or tax bill (dated within the last 60 days)
- Lease agreement
- Imprinted bank check or deposit slip
- Official school schedule with applicant's name and address typed on it
- Official letter verifying residency and mailing address dated within last 30 days from a social service provider, temporary employer that provides housing, or a short-term residence
- Postcard mailed to applicant from the library
- eBills
Note 1: A Post Office Box or business address is not sufficient - a current residential address is required.
Login to your Minuteman Library Network Card Account.
To login, enter your Minuteman library card number or Username (see Note 1) and your password or PIN. (If you don't have a password or PIN, leave the password blank.)
To setup or change your Username, login with your library card number and select "Edit Account". Enter your preferred Username and hit "Submit" to save. (Username must be unique, and cannot match any other username in use.)
Minuteman Library Network App (Download for Free From Your App Store)
The Minuteman Library Network App combines the commonly used features of your library website into a single mobile app.
- Store your library card barcode for checkout
- Renew items
- Place, suspend, and cancel holds

- Find and request items by searching the catalog or scanning a book's barcode
- Find your library's event calendar and museum passes
- Contact your library or ask a librarian
- Access your library's digital collections and resources
Pay Fines Online
Yes, you can pay your library fines over $1 online using a credit or debit card. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Switch and Solo cards are accepted.
- Log in to My Account and select "Fines".
- Select which fines you wish to pay, then click on your preferred payment method (PayPal or credit card)
- Once your payment is accepted, you will see a confirmation screen that you can print as your receipt. If you have provided an email address, you will also receive an email receipt as well.
If for any reason your payment is not accepted, you can visit the library to pay your fines.
On your credit card statement "Minuteman" will be listed as the vendor. However, you may see the transaction listed as PayPal while payment is pending.
Online fine payments are sent by a secure (SSL) connection. Minuteman Library Network does not store any credit card information.
Exhibition Space
Space in Town of Franklin owned buildings and facilities is available for the public exhibition of artwork. If you are interested in showing your work in the Franklin Public Library, please submit the Art Exhibition Application to the office of the Town Administrator.
