- IRS provides free resources to help taxpayers file an accurate tax return: During the busiest time of the tax filing season, the Internal Revenue Service kicked off its 2024 Tax Time Guide series to help remind taxpayers of key items they’ll need to file a 2023 tax return.
- IRS provides 1099-K resources to help taxpayers: Revised FAQs provide more general information for taxpayers, including common situations, along with more clarity for industry and what organizations should send Forms 1099-K.
- Business tax credit helps employers provide their employees with child-care services and facilities: The Internal Revenue Service announced the launch of a new page on IRS.gov explaining the Employer-Provided Childcare Tax Credit, an incentive for businesses to provide child care services to their employees.
- Beware of unscrupulous tax return preparers: The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers that carefully choosing a tax professional to prepare a tax return is vital to ensuring that their personal and financial information is safe and secure and treated with care.
- Earned Income Tax Credit resources benefit millions of workers, families: The Internal Revenue Service and partners around the nation launched the annual Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day outreach campaign to help millions of low-to-moderate income working Americans that are eligible to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
- Reminders when filing 2023 returns: The IRS offered a checklist to help taxpayers as they prepare to file their 2023 tax returns during filing season.
- Disaster victims with extension deadline to file 2022 tax return: The IRS reminded disaster-area taxpayers who received extensions to file their 2022 returns that these returns are due on Feb. 15, 2024.
- Tax relief for taxpayers impacted by storms in Rhode Island: The IRS announced tax relief for individuals and businesses in parts of Rhode Island affected by severe storms, flooding and tornadoes that began on Sept. 10.
- (Updated) Interactive tool helps employers revisit eligibility for ERC: The Internal Revenue Service provides this question-and-answer tool to see if you might be eligible for the Employee Retention Credit (ERC or ERTC) or if you may need to resolve an incorrect claim.
